Car history: |
Very Rare 1970 Corvette Convertible - Only 6,648 units built - No 1970 Corvettes built until January 1970 - Chevy on strike. Correct Monza Red - Code 974 - estimated only 13.6 percent Monza Red - Correct Black Interior - Code 400 - Build date code: A27 which is 01/27/1970. Correct Black Convertible Top. 350 hp 350 Engine - Corvette Replacement Engine - no suffix code or VIN on block pad. HEI Electronic Ignition. Edelbrock Intake Manifold (painted orange to match engine) Edelbrock Carburetor. Correct Double Belt Pulleys. This is a GREAT running engine. On dry pavement, I recently got rubber in first, second and third gear! It can be hard to distinguish between horsepower and torque, but I would estimate the corvette's horsepower to be somewhere between 350 - 375. Just my estimate. No pings, knocks or rattles. Nice dry engine. Four Speed Transmission - shift beautifully. New Flywheel. New Clutch. New Pressure Plate. New Throw-out Bearing. New Tilt / Telescopic Steering Column - very expensive - $1,300. All new bearings. New Ignition Switch. New Signal Switch. New Hazard Switch. New Signal Cancel Cam. Full Size Spare. Real Corvette Rally Rim. Spare Tire with Lots of Tread. Locking Spare Tire Carrier. Vacuum System: Retractable Headlights Work Great. Retractable Wiper Door Works Great. Original Deluxe Wire Wheel Covers (code P02) Available Seperate from Car Purchase - Very Rare - only 3457 made - many sets discarded and replaced with Rally Wheels. This car has the original wheel covers and the Rally Wheels which are on the car now. Condition: Car starts, runs and drives great, No annoying squeaks or rattles, Tires in great condition - lot's of tread, Tiny Tiny stone chip, Tiny Tiny tear in top. I would personally feel confident in taking this car on a long road trip. This is NOT a perfect Bloomington Trailer Queen high end show car. But, in my opinion, it is a beautiful driver and a great car for local / regional car shows, weekend cruise-ins and perfect for driving to business meetings, an evening out with your sweetheart, a fun road trip, etc . I'm not the original owner of the car and I don't know how many miles are on this car. Updated May 4, 2009. |
